Viale Su Nuraxi Barumini Barumini

indicazioni/directions

Inserted by UNESCO in the World Heritage List in 1997, the nuragic village of Su Nuraxi is located in Barumini in central-southern Sardinia. Composed of 4 square towers and a central tower measuring 18 meters, it dates back to 1500 BC. Like medieval castles, its function was to control pastures and nearby villages in case of enemy attacks. Seen from above, it appears as a fascinating mosaic of circles on a green meadow.

Within the site, you can find the "Hut 80," which was used for religious purposes and as a meeting place for the community. The entrance fee is 15€, but it also includes the Casa Zapata museum and the Lilliu Center.
