Traveling with your own dog has become, fortunately, something increasingly easy and common. In Sardinia, dogs are welcome, but as is the case everywhere, they must be kept on a leash, and it is expected that their waste is collected and deposited in the appropriate bins.

Bringing your dog to Sardinia by plane is certainly possible, but you must adhere to the rules of the chosen airline. The rules vary from company to company, so it is best to inquire beforehand. Certain low-cost airlines do not transport animals, or they only allow animals in the cabin (up to 10 kg), or only in the cargo hold.

Fortunately, ferry companies have adapted, and it is no longer heard of leaving our four-legged friends in cold cages outside, as it used to be. In fact, now they offer cabins with linoleum flooring specifically to allow our faithful companions to travel with us.

The health booklet of each dog, with all the required vaccinations up to date, is always required.

There are free beaches where dogs are allowed. In other areas, it is necessary to adhere to the regulations of the respective municipality. Walks on the beach with our four-legged friends are allowed after 8:00 p.m. and before 8:00 a.m.
